WORKING PARTY Date: Saturday, 19 April 2008 Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm
Another chance to do your bit to make the Club look as good as it can. In this instance, we are preparing for the OPEN DAY the following Saturday, to which you should bring all your friends who have no excuse for not joining our Club!
The'work' will include removing litter and rubbish from the grounds, hedge- and grass-cutting, weeding, etc. There may be lines to flatten or replace on the shale courts, and we could freshen-up the lines on the all-weather courts. (I'll try to get some of the appropriate spray paint.)
The more who come, the more we can tackle and the better the Club will be.
Please put it in your diaries.

WORKING PARTY Date: Saturday, 16 February 2008 Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm
To start preparing the shale courts for the new season.
New shale supplies should be with us:
We need to clear away twigs, leaves, weeds, etc, and remove moss;
tamp down lines and rising clinker;
spread medium grade shale, especially filling dips where water collects.
This is not difficult, but time consuming work. Doing the job well will make the summer play all the better, and doing it now (assuming we have no heavy rain before Saturday - none is forecast) will enable the courts to settle well before we apply the finishing fine grade shale in a few weeks. You will see that we have a supply of rock salt: This will be spread on top after the fine dressing with the purpose of
1. inhibiting weed growth
2. attracting moisture during drought periods, thus reducing dust blowing about, and
3. inhibiting damage by late frosts.
PLEASE COME AND DO YOUR BIT
BRING BOOTS, KNEE PADS (if possible), GARDENING GLOVES,
ALL THE FAMILY AND BOUNDLESS ENERGY!

Ladies' I Home Match Date: Sunday, 10 February 2008 Time: 10.30am - 2pm
Oh my goodness!! I hope you are all following this as the Ladies' I are on AWESOME form. This season they have won four out of four!!! The only thing that stands in their way is.................................Banstead Downs. They now have their sights set on the holy grail of league tennis............. the winners'certificate! Banstead reassuringly lost against Sanderstead Village and Shirley Park who the Ladies' I have beaten so the hopes are high for this match.
Come down and make sure the ladies bring it home to SCTC and ensure that it is not a repeat of last winter's make or break match against Selsdon!??! In fact, if you don`t come down to watch and we lose then you will all be individually responsible and it won`t be down to Kirsty's ambitious inceptions or the team's inability to put it away!!!??
